TKfarm sits at the heart of some of England and Wales’ most beautiful walking areas which are great for ramblers, nature lovers and those who want to relax in the great outdoors. There is a mix of terrains and difficultly levels which will suit everyone and there are family-friendly walks too.
The area has many long-distance routes. The Wye Valley Walk follows the river through some of Britain’s most unspoilt countryside and offers riverside sections and challenging hill climbs if you want to take in the valley views. The Three Castles Walk connects the medieval fortresses of Grosmont, Skenfrith and White Castle and takes you through history. If you are feeling ambitious the Offa’s Dyke Path traces the ancient earthwork built by King Offa in the 8th century and provides a great journey through time and landscape along the Welsh-English border.
If you prefer a more leisurely stroll then Symonds Yat is a good choice as it offers great views over the river and gives you the chance to spot local wildlife including the peregrine falcons that nest on the limestone cliffs. The circular walk at this location has options for all fitness levels and has well-maintained paths plus many benches for you to stop and relax.
One of our local routes is Garway Hill which is approximately three miles from the farm and will give you a walk with a view. You will be able to see across the Wye Valley and is perfect for sunrise or sunset walks.
There are other routes that are slightly further away such as The Malvern Hills which offers ridge walks with views. The Black Mountains which is a rewarding hiking experience. Skirrid, Sugar Loaf and Cats Back are some of our personal favourites as each one offers different challenges and views. The Brecon Beacons are within driving distance where you can experience Wales’ highest peaks and take in the views.
