FAQs – Caravan Site

FAQ : What time can we arrive at our pitch?

Answer: Your pitch will be ready from 1pm. Take note of your pitch number on your booking confirmation and head straight to your pitch to set up.

FAQ: What time do we need to vacate our pitch?

Answer: Departure is by 11am – however if you wish to stay on and fish you may be able to leave your vehicle in the carpark.

FAQ: Can I bring my dog?

Answer: Yes, we welcome quiet and friendly dogs at no extra charge – but must be kept on lead at all times and all foul cleared up. We have a designated dog walk route and many local dog walk routes, just ask for our favourites.

FAQ: Can I put up an awning/gazebo?

Answer: yes awnings/gazebo’s are FOC – just make sure they are within your pitch area.

FAQ: What happens if I arrive after hours?

Answer: If you are going to be arriving late, just let us know and once you arrive head to your pitch. We will see you in the morning.

FAQ: Is WIFI available?

Answer: Yes we have free WIFI on site

FAQ: Is there a pub/shop in walking distance?

Answer: We are approximately 3 miles for the nearest pub, the nearest shop is 1.5 miles away. We do have a limited amount of emergency items and our own/locally produced meat for sale.

FAQ: How much are the showers?

Answer: There is no extra charge for the use of the showers/hot water

FAQ: What facilites are on site?

Answer: In addition to our toilet shower block (with disabled access) you can find a laundry room with large sinks for washing up, £1 coin operated washing machine and tumble drier and a small freezer for ice packs etc
Two coarse fishing lakes (half price when staying on site)
Our own and locally sourced produce ( eggs, meat, apple juice) – when available

FAQs – The Wain House Holiday Cottage

FAQ: What time can I arrive?

Answer: check in is from 3.30pm – If you arrive earlier, we may still be cleaning but you are welcome to take a walk around our lakes or ask for local recommendations for things to do.

FAQ: What time do I need to leave on check out day?

Answer: Please depart by 9.30am

FAQ: Is the Wain House wheel chair accessible?

Answer: Yes, the cottage is fully accessible with level access from the carparking area, low door thresholds, wide doorways and corridors, wet room, raised toilet, alarms and gentle ramps in the garden

FAQ: What is included in the hire?

Answer: All bed linen, a hand towel and bath towel per guest, tea towels, heating and WIFI. A starter pack of washing up liquid/dishwasher tablets, logs for the wood burner (seasonal)

FAQ: What is the parking situation?

Answer: There is private parking for 2 cars directly outside the property.

FAQ: Can I bring my dog?

Answer: Yes, we welcome well behaved dogs at a £20 each per stay.

FAQ: Is it family friendly?

Answer: Yes, being all on one level with tiled floors throughout makes the Wain house ideal for young families, a travel cot and highchair are available on request.

FAQ: Is there a garden?

Answer: Yes, there is a secure garden with lawned area as well as a sunny decking area with outdoor seating and BBQ

FAQ: Can I store my bike/fishing equipement?

Answer: Yes, we have an undercover storage area and shed for storing such items

FAQ : When can I fish?

Answer: The lakes are open 365 days a year from 7am – dusk

FAQ: Do you allow night fishing?

Answer: Sorry no we do not allow night fishing

FAQ: How much does it cost to fish?

Answer: PLEASURE LAKE – Day Permit – £8.00, Evening permit (after 4pm) £5.00
Junior permit (under 16) £4.00, Evening permit (after 4pm) £3.00
CARP LAKE – Day Permit – £10.00, Evening permit (after 4pm) £6.00

FAQ: Do I need to pre book?

Answer: no, you can just turn up and pay for a day tickets on site before fishing.

FAQ: What fish are in the lakes?

Answer: Willow lake (pleasure lake) – nearest the carpark, contains a variety of fish species: crucian, common and mirror carp up to 10lb, through to 3lb tench, 6lb bream and roach
Oak Lake (Carp lake) contains a good selection of mirror, crucian and common carp with fish ranging from 10lb up to 20lbs.

FAQ: Can I access the lakes in a wheelchair?

Answer: Yes, Willow lake is accessible for wheelchair users

FAQ: How big are the carp in the Oak lake?

Answer: The carp range from 10lb – 20lb

FAQ: What is the best bait to use?

Answer: maggots an sweet corn catch well

FAQ: Do you sell bait/equipment?

Answer: no sorry, we do not currently sell bait or equpiment

FAQ: What do I need to fish TK farm lakes?

Answer: Each angler must have their own landing net and own padded unhooking mat. No fixed rigs (any weights, feeders or floats tied permanently to the line.), Barbless hooks only, No hooks bigger than Size 10, a rod license , to have dipped all equipment and read our rules!
