What our guests say about The Wain House & the Camping & Caravan site!

Here are a few recently left reviews…

What can I say about this fantastic campsite that hasn’t been said before? Beautiful views, very helpful owner and if you are into fishing (which I am not), even better as I’ve been told that it’s somewhere that you would struggle to NOT catch a few fish. Well within reach of Monmouth, Ross on Wye, Tintern Abbey and the three castles.

Super accommodation has everything you need and is very comfy and welcoming. The fresh flowers are a lovely touch, the apple juice lovely on a hot summers day was very refreshing. The fishing lakes are excellent, best fishing holiday I’ve ever had. Fished 4 days on the 1st lake and 2 days on the Carp lake, every day was excellent even though the water was down by at least a foot. (didn’t stop them biting.) Had several 20+ Carp and too many doubles to remember.

Darren Bailey – April 25

Had a day’s fishing with a mate on the pleasure lake. The day ticket was £8 ample parking near the lake and nice clean toilet facilities. Weather was sunny but chilly, and the breeze was a bit brisk. My mate had an excellent day with a mixture of silvers and small carp caught on, sweetcorn, luncheon meat, and bread. I, on the other hand, was using pellets and sweetcorn, I had a small carp, 2 roaches, and a rudd, all nice excellent condition fish but it just wasn’t my day but still enjoyable. The campsite looks great with nice pitches 👍

Absolutely love this place, 1st visit this weekend and will return very soon 😂. Great campsite / touring caravans. Quiet and friendly. Very clean facilities. The fishing lakes made it for my son. Well kept and stocked. Reluctant to recommend so highly as it really is a hidden gem of a place!! See you soon!

The position was ideal as we wanted to visit Ross on Wye and Hereford but we could have added Monmouth, Abergavenny, Hay on Wye, Brecon, The Forest of Dean …..
Thanks Gwyneth & Richard
I’m certain we’ll be back!!

Very quiet site, beautiful surroundings, friendly staff, spotless facilities, nice pitches, some over looking the ponds, we bought eggs, sausages, bacon and apple juice, highly recommended, the fishing was non stop, cell wafters done the bizz for me, I only fished the carp lake, biggest around 10lb, but great fun, definitely going back.

If it’s peace and quiet you are looking for this is the place to stay. The barn was comfortable clean and had everything that was needed. The log burner was an extra bonus. Great communication with Gwyneth and all was easy. Would definitely recommend.
